Climb the Aural Mountain (1813m), the highest peak of Cambodia. Discover an unknown part of the Cambodian backcountry. You will learn how to get through a high canopy, to evolve out of your comfort zone, to reach the top, whatever happens.
5AM: departure from Phnom Penh.
10AM: arrival in Aural district
10.30AM: light breakfast, equipment checking.
11AM: ascent warm-up with 10km to the mountain foot.
2.30AM: arrival at mountain foot, departure to base camp #1.
3.30PM: arrival at base camp #01, camp preparation.
5PM: dinner preparations.
8AM: camp uninstallation.
9AM: Aural mountain ascent start, trekking up to camp #2
12PM: lunch break.
2PM : arrival at base camp #02
2.15PM: Aural mountain final ascent, trekking up to the top (main equipment stays at base camp #02).
4PM : Aural mountain peak, 1813m
4.15PM : trekking back to base camp #02
5.15PM : arrival at base camp #02, camp and dinner preparations.
6PM : dinner.
7AM: light breakfast
8AM: camp uninstallation
8.30AM: trekking down mountain foot to extraction point
11AM: 10km by local transportation to extraction point
2PM: arrival to the main vehicle, light lunch, departure to Phnom Penh
5.30PM: arrival in Phnom Penh
(schedule can be affected by weather and traffic)
Recommended gear list:
- camping set (tarp, hammock, sleeping bag),
- 1 backpack (40L maximum),
- 2 dry bags (15 to 20L) ,
- 1 pair of high trekking shoes or sports shoes,
- 1 pants ,
- 1 tee-shirt ,
- 1 hot jacket long sleeve,
- 1 rain coat,
- 1 pair of socks,
- 3L of water,
- 1 extra trousers and shirt,
- 1 flash light,
- 1 knife,
- 1 mosquito repellant,
- 1 toiletry set (small towel, soap …),
